This was my first eBay acquisition. Since receiving it I've had it cleaned and stripped to raw brass, and had a valve job done at Anderson Plating. It's a wonderful player--warm round sound but can be brassy when desired. Excellent intonation. This is definitely a keeper!
The bell appears to consist of two different alloys of brass, with a more pinkish hue to the bell tail up to the flare, and the last three inches of flare in a more yellowish brass. For some reason, the second valve slide also seems to be the pinkish brass, with the remainder of the horn in the yellow variety.
